A symbiotic quest for naval dominance - Daily Pioneer

India and the USA are considering a comprehensive agreement that would allow the US to use Indian Naval Dockyards for the upkeep of the US Navy. Chennai has already been signed as a Naval Logistics Hub, while Mumbai and Goa are expected to be included soon. This arrangement would give the US a foothold in the Indian Ocean and enable them to reduce their assets in the South China Sea, putting pressure on China. Other authoritarian regimes in the region may also view this as a threat.
