Blanked sailings now the norm : Alphaliner - India Shipping News

According to a report by Alphaliner, skipped sailings have become common for liner operators, with THE Alliance having the highest rate of blanked sailings at nearly 20%. This is due to an increase in newbuilding deliveries and available ships. The report suggests that reducing capacity could help improve spot freight rates. Meanwhile, MSC has struggled to fill slots on its Swan service, resulting in void sailings. Transpacific rates have slightly increased, but Linerlytica predicts they could come under pressure due to lower cargo volumes and Panama canal restrictions.
