The Marine Rotational Force-Darwin, consisting of 2,500 American Marines and sailors, is currently stationed in Australia and the western Pacific as part of the U.S.-Australia military relations. The force is focused on refining operational concepts outlined in the Marine Corps' Force Design 2030 modernization strategy and strengthening its posture and capability. Training exercises, such as Southern Jackaroo '23 and Talisman Sabre '23, have provided opportunities for the force to practice small-unit tactics, sensor-to-shooter innovation, and all-domain command and control.
