The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in India is conducting weekly review meetings with states and union territories to promote the adoption of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) for infrastructure planning. During a recent meeting, the importance of utilizing the NMP/SMP portal and adopting a "whole of government" approach for infrastructure planning was emphasized. States/UTs are using the approach for connectivity planning, site selection for social infrastructure assets, and integrating existing development programs with the NMP/SMP. States/UTs were also encouraged to formulate State Logistics Policies aligned with the national policy.
