The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in India has developed a range of technological solutions for road construction challenges in the Himalayas, such as slope stabilisation in avalanche-prone regions. Construction work in the region has been associated with 29.2% of major landslides, as a result of insufficiencies in taking geological factors into account. The US Department of Defence has submitted a “Climate Risk Analysis” to the Indian National Security Council.
